UMUEZENWERE HOST COMMUNITY PAYS FAMILIARIZATION VISIT TO THE ACTING VICE CHANCELLOR & MANAGEMENT OF UAES

Elders and leaders of Umuezenwere community, the host community of the University of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences payed a familiarization visit to the acting Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof Chiedozie C. Eze, today Tuesday the 28th of March 2023.

The visitors who were comprised of elders, youth leaders and the President General of Umuagwo Community, were well received by the management with open arms. They in return reciprocated with traditional gifts before they went ahead to state the reason their visit.

The chairman, Mr Chibuike Amadi introduced his kinsmen and told the audience they had come in good spirit as a peace loving community to visit the institution. When the PG Nick Amadi spoke, he reiterated that they are a peaceful community but can be troublesome if neglected. He said, they found it necessary to inform the V.C that the land was collected from a particular community, their community. Amadi went ahead to share some insights on the perculiarities of the environment and the need for the University to pay a visit to the landlords were more revelations about the community would be made.

Other leaders of the community who spoke, informed the VC that Umuezenwere holds the offor of Umuagwo and would demand respect from the institution as they give same in return. They prayed for a peaceful coexistence and once more invited the school to visit their landlords.

Responding, the acting Vice Chancellor Prof. CC Eze informed them that he is a peace loving man, and explained that employments had been done before he joined the institution but had earlier informed the community to bring their children for admission into various programs offered by the institution. He promised the avail the community employment opportunity when the window for that opens. He further encouraged the community to push their children to write the necessary examinations to enable them get admitted into the institution. He also promised to find a suitable date to visit the community.

Present at the meeting were the Registrar Prince Edward Njemanze , the University Librarian Prof. Chidi Nwosu , the Deputy Bursar, Mrs. Tina Osuala and the University P.R.O, Mr Ikechukwu Ogbonna.
